Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority took delivery of three brand new Manitou electric forklifts this month, bringing to six the total number of ME 430 electric forklifts purchased by the company from Ghana-based Pasico (Paterson Simons's Ghana subsidiary) in the last 12 months.

Manitou has a range of 12 electric forklifts, and has perfected them over the last 60 years. The ME 430 AC forklift is one of the largest in Manitou's electric range and has a capacity of 3MT with and large voltage battery 80/560 V/Ah.

The ME430 can lift up to 6m high, travels at 20 km/h and has a short wheel base, for high performance in confined spaces, of only 1,75m.

The three forklifts will be working at GPHA's reefer yard in Tema Port. GPHA's new dedicated 840 point reefer terminal is a part of the port's new expansion and was completed in 2016.
