Paterson Simons recently concluded another Lifting Safety Conference in Takoradi, Ghana.
Previous conferences were held in 2010, and 2012, however 2017’s has been declared the most successful to date with a record turn-out this year of over 60 attendees. We were thrilled that customers and other interested parties from across a broad spectrum of sectors (including mining, oil & gas and the rental sector) attended. Our guests came from as far afield as the UK, South Africa, France, Ivory Coast, Sweden and Germany.
A hallmark of our business is the close relationships we have with our manufacturers and no fewer than nine experts from Manitowoc Grove, Konecranes and Manitou were present at the conference. Presentations focussed on safety and new technologies for lifting equipment including cranes, mobile and overhead forklifts, access platforms and telehandlers.
The two topics that generated the most interest were the synthetic rope sample which was handed around and was the subject of much debate, and the walk around of the GMK6300L crane by Factory Product Specialist Holger Haber. Many thanks to Mobicrane for generously providing the crane.
John Traynor, MD of Paterson Simons, concludes, “This third lifting safety conference was our most successful yet – we were extremely pleased with the level of interactive debate from the delegates and feel that with this regular event Paterson Simons/Pasico have established a forum for a community of lifting specialists.“
