Paterson Simons commissioned and delivered a Manitou MT-X 1840A Telehandler to Sandvik in October 2021. This adds to the existing fleet of equipment that we’ve supplied to Sandvik since 2012. The machines supplied are working well, they include:
- JCB TLT35D TCR 4×4 Teletruk
- Manitou MHT-X10120LE3 Telehandler
- Konecranes CXTS Single Girder 3T Overhead Crane
- Konecranes CXTS Single Girder 5T Overhead Crane
- Konecranes CXTD Double Girder 20T Overhead Crane
Sandvik is a global engineering group offering products and services that enhance customer productivity and profitability. The need was for an elevated work platform, as Sandvik required a machine to help maintain the exterior and interior of a building, therefore safety was essential.
The Manitou MT-X 1840A Telehandler was commissioned and delivered with a CE man basket, a set of filters, air-con, and a self-cleaning pre-filter – which works well in West Africa. CE standardisation includes foam-filled tires and turns off the functions in the cabin once the platform is attached so that passengers have sole control of the boom movement using a remote control.
The access platform on the Manitou MT-X 1840A Telehandler has several modifications which increases the safety of the telehandler – which was an important factor in choosing the right machine for the work that Sandvik needed.
The Konecranes Overhead cranes previously supplied are operating in the workshop and the JCB Teletruk and the Manitou Telehandler’s manage moving parts outside.
The fleet of machines that Paterson Simons supplied service various workstations which enable the refurbishment of essential parts of Sandvik’s mining equipment used extensively in Ghana.
We’re pleased that the machines supplied are working well for Sandvik!
