Paterson Simons completed a delivery for Konecranes as part of four recent deliveries to large ports in Nigeria.
The first delivery was two G HMK 7508’s to a large port in Nigeria. The vessel arrived on the 9th of September, and both cranes were offloaded on the same day. The cranes were offloaded by Paterson Simons, together with the Konecranes team.
The second delivery to two large ports in Nigeria took place between the 25th of December to early January 2021, one 16W 41t RTG Fuel Saver was commissioned and offloaded by Paterson Simons, along with the Konecranes team. A further two 16W RTGs were commissioned and offloaded shortly after in early February 2021, by Paterson Simons without any assistance. This is a successful first for Paterson Simons.
The third delivery of two 16W RTG cranes to two large ports in Nigeria was successfully offloaded and supervised solely by the Paterson Simons team in April 2021.
The Konecranes RTG has Active Load Control (ALC) technology, an intelligent steel structure, and a smarter cabin, making the Konecranes RTG the most productive and reliable in the world. Konecranes Diesel Fuel Saver technologies and Hybrid Power Pack provide the flexibility of diesel power, while significantly reducing diesel fuel consumption. The two fully electric options eliminate diesel fuel consumption while providing the convenience of electricity — no diesel, less maintenance, less noise, and lower emissions.
All equipment was commissioned on-site by Paterson Simons engineers. Paterson Simons provides premium offload, commissioning, endurance testing, warranty support, and ongoing service support to Konecranes.
We thank our team for this successful first unsupervised delivery alongside the other supervised crane deliveries to these three large ports in Nigeria. We are excited to add that more RTGs are due to be commissioned and delivered this month!
‘’We are excited about the safe and efficient delivery that our team completed for Konecranes in Nigeria, and we’re looking forward to providing our ongoing premium service support to our customers and Konecranes in the expanding Nigerian market’’ – James Savoy, Group Technical Director
