The Paterson Simons Group (including Pasico Ghana) Crane and Lifting Safety Conference, held on November 21st and 22nd November 2024 at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi, Ghana, was a resounding success. As the fourth instalment of this event, the conference reinforced the Paterson Simons Group’s commitment to delivering a lifetime of support to customers in the lifting and heavy equipment sectors.
Over 100 attendees, including owners, managers, and supervisors from the mining, oil and gas, ports, and logistics industries participated in the two-day event to share knowledge, strengthen our commitment to safety and pave the way towards a safer and more efficient future. These key stakeholders had the opportunity to explore the latest advancements in crane and forklift technology while engaging in critical discussions on safety and efficiency.
The conference featured presentations from the Paterson Simons Group team, representatives from our Group CIT certification division, and experts from Konecranes Lift Trucks, JCB, Manitou, Grove and Franna.
The focus of the event was on the technical and safety aspects of lifting operations, with particular attention to electrification, safety features for the mining industry, alternative fuels, and electric forklift options. Round table discussions centered on sustainability, green technologies, the path to lower emissions diesel technology, electrification and the challenges in rolling out electric equipment in our particular market and how we can overcome these together.
Thank you to Mobicrane for providing the Grove GMK 5200-1 All Terrain crane for a practical walkaround which was a highlight of the event.
We are dedicated to exceptional safety training and inspections. Our goal is to ensure that every piece of lifting equipment adheres to the highest safety standards, protecting all operators and stakeholders. By fostering collaboration between customers and manufacturers, we see this conference as a must-attend events for professionals in the lifting and logistics sectors.
Guests of honour were attendees from Takoradi Technical University to whom Paterson Simons Group donated a transmission for practical sessions in their training workshop. The attendees included the Pro Vice Chancellor, Lecturers and Engineering students.
Thank you to all attendees for their invaluable participation. Together, we have reinforced our shared commitment to advancing safety standards, sustainability, electrification and driving growth in the West & Central Africa region. Here’s to building on this momentum!
