GOTTWALD MOBILE HARBOUR CRANE ASSEMBLY IN WESTDORPE, NETHERLANDS

In News, News Snippets, Ports & Logistics by Alisa Evans

Paterson Simons Service Manager Messan Guedou recently visited Europe to shadow an experienced Konecranes engineering team building a Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbour Crane (MHC) ordered by ICTSI for their operations at Matadi Gateway Terminal.

He arrived in time to witness the boom assembly, fitting of boom to the crane, process for correctly loading the counterweight, installation of the wire rope, and final fit of electronics.

The crane parts were shipped by barge from the Gottwald factory in Germany to a yard on the outskirts of Antwerp port which provided the space for the crane to be fully assembled prior to loading onto a specialist vessel which transported this crane to the DR Congo, before moving on and delivering a further pair of cranes to Kenya.

Konecranes Gottwald MHC’s provide cost-effective and eco-efficient cargo handling thanks to their electric drive concept. Mobile harbour cranes are the most versatile port cranes, suitable for handling general cargo, containers, and bulk materials. The cranes offer high flexibility in combination with relatively low operating costs.

Paterson Simons sell, service, inspect, train and provide spare parts for Konecranes Gottwald MHC’s across the West African region.

We currently have crane engineering teams based in West Africa servicing Konecranes Gottwald MHC’s

Thank you to the team for this successful assembly!
