Our team recently completed a Grove RT890E Boom Cylinder resealing job for one of our long-term mining clients in Ghana.
Boom Cylinder resealing is usually carried out every 7 to 8 years, depending on the equipment usage, the rate of wear of the seals, and the temperatures that the equipment is exposed to.
This Grove RT890E is currently 10 years old, and this is the first time that Boom Cylinder resealing was needed. To complete this job, the team used an assist mobile crane (Grove GMK5220) and telehandler (Manitou MHT-X 860) also supplied and maintained by Paterson Simons/Pasico.
Boom Cylinder resealing ensures that your crane runs efficiently and keeps it in good working condition. This is important as seals can become damaged due to wear, which causes oil leakages. Resealing also prevents frequent hydraulic oil top-ups.
