This year marks a milestone for Kwaku Okoh, who has dedicated 25 years of service to Pasico Ghana Limited and Paterson Simons. From his beginnings as an Assistant Sales Engineer in January 2000 to his current role as Managing Director of Pasico Ghana and a Director at Paterson Simons his journey is one of resilience, dedication, and continuous growth.

A Career Built on Hard Work and Passion

When Kwaku Okoh first joined Pasico Ghana he was responsible for selling plant equipment and expanding the company’s customer base. By May 2000, he took on the role of Product Manager at the Pasiguard Factory, where he supervised manufacturing, quality control, and installation of Pasiguard Collapsible Security Grilles. His expertise in research and development played a crucial role in further improving the Pasiguard product line.

In June 2001 he moved to Brighton, UK, on secondment as an Export Sales Coordinator for Paterson Simons. After a year of managing international sales he returned to Ghana and progressed through several leadership positions, including Parts & Service Manager and Operations Manager. In 2005, he was promoted to Operations Director and, after five years of outstanding performance, was appointed Managing Director in 2010.

Reflecting on his journey, he said, “Hard work pays off. I committed myself fully to my work, leaving no stone unturned. That dedication led me to where I am today.”

Why He Loves His Work

For Kwaku his passion for his work stems from his alignment with the company’s values and mission. “The Group’s emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and training resonates with me. I take pride in being part of a company that creates solutions that positively impact our industry and the wider community.”

In his role as Managing Director, he enjoys the challenges of problem-solving, the excitement of dynamic projects, and the fulfilment of leading a talented team to achieve ambitious goals. Despite being at the top of the corporate ladder, he remains a lifelong learner. “What surprises me most is how much I continue to learn. Each decision, no matter how small, influences the company’s direction. The industry evolves rapidly, and staying ahead requires constant adaptation.”

Key Achievements and Contributions

Throughout his career, Kwaku has played a pivotal role in several key projects and initiatives:

  • Driving Strategic Partnerships: He successfully negotiated a significant agreement to supply Naco Louvre frames for the Ghana’s affordable housing initiative.
  • Expanding Business Operations: As part of the leadership team, he established a new branch in Takoradi, which contributes a substantial t portion of Pasico’s overall revenue.
  • Enhancing Operational Efficiency: While on secondment to the UK, he helped streamline operations at the Brighton office, significantly improving efficiency and strengthening the company’s global footprint.

Life Beyond Work

Outside the office, Kwaku finds motivation in personal growth, meaningful connections, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. He enjoys spending quality time with family and loved ones, staying physically and mentally active, and playing golf as a way to unwind.

A Culture of Unity and Growth

One of the aspects he is most proud of is the inclusive and collaborative culture within the Group. “We have successfully fostered unity in diversity. Our workplace is a melting pot of different nationalities, and the sense of teamwork has led to increased employee satisfaction and reduced staff turnover.”

For young engineers aspiring to grow in their careers, his advice is simple but powerful: “Be humble, stay curious, and never stop learning. The industry is constantly evolving, so adaptability is key. Build strong relationships, seek out mentors, and don’t be afraid to take on leadership roles when opportunities arise.”
