Paterson Simons has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Takoradi Technical University (TTU) to provide students and staff of TTU’s Mechanical Engineering, Plant, and Production Department direct exposure to industry as well as annual sponsorship for the best graduating students.
Pasico Ghana PLC, a subsidiary of Paterson Simons, has a long history in Ghana and recognises the need to continue and broaden its contribution to Ghana. Many of Paterson Simons’ current engineers have studied at TTU. Kwaku Okoh, Managing Director of Pasico Ghana PLC, wanted to formalize TTU and Paterson Simons’ relationship so that Paterson Simons can support and contribute to TTU in a meaningful way.
As part of the MoU, Paterson Simons will be:
- Sponsoring a leading student
- Offer placement to a leading student
- Offer 6 students work experience to provide them with exposure to various equipment
- Practical training of MEPP-TTU students and staff
- Accommodating HND/B. Tech students who have completed 2nd, 3rd and 4th semesters of their programme to impart industrial training
Rev. Prof. John Eshun, Vice-Chancellor of TTU, commended Pasico Ghana PLC for extending a hand of collaboration with TTU and said the move strengthens TTU’s five-year strategic plan.
Pascio Ghana PLC and the MEPP-TTU will share their training, research, and development facilities to promote academic and research interaction as well as provide facilitators for a week in-class training each semester for MEPP-TTU students.
